I installed a second stereo jack, wired it to the EIS 4000 serial data output port and fabricated a cable with stereo plug on one end and DB-9 on the other. Greg at Grand Rapids Technologies, the manufacturer of the EIS 4000, sent me a data logging program that runs under DOS. It works well enough, and logs the data to a text file, with one data record per second. The text file imports into a spreadsheet easily.I tried using HyperTerminal PE to record the EIS 4000 data, but I couldn\'t find a mix of settings that allowed it to receive data. So I may be stuck using the DOS program from Grand Rapids. So, I can now record flight data from the Dynon EFIS and engine data from the EIS 4000. Next I\'ll work on the GNS 430. And I will need to find a way to get three serial inputs into the laptop simultaneously, and somehow time sync them.
